An Inclusive Spectacle.
A temporary monument.
A temporary monument.
to this time, we have to live through
to the artistic practice prevailing
to the forceful nature of having to create in your mother’s spare bedroom
to the family history of domesticated women
to my mother who taught me to sew
to my father who wouldn’t teach me to woodwork
to my brother who hogged the lego’s
to the life circumstances that led me to sew, then and now
to my grandmother who gave me my sewing machine
to my sewing machine who beat its motor continuously for the past two months, bless its soul
to driving across north america in a pandemic
to the uncertainty of leaving, arriving and re-arriving
to choosing to be in the epicentre
to returning to campus and what it will bring us all
to the lack of touch
to being six feet apart
to feeling naked without my mask on
to this moment and its temporality
to its future, history and the next iteration
